Vitis berlandieri

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitis_berlandieri

June: Leaves mature, and fruit development continues.

Berlandieri grape is widely used in viticulture as rootstock for drought and calcareous soil resistance. Rarely used for food due to specific berry taste.
The plant is highly drought-resistant and tolerates high calcium soil content. Berries are small and tart, not intended for mass consumption. Frequently used in grape breeding to improve cultivar resilience.
Berry harvesting usually occurs late September to early October when fully ripe. Primarily used as rootstock for breeding and grafting.
The plant is valued for high tolerance to calcareous soils and drought. When harvesting berries, note that they are rarely consumed fresh due to specific taste.
Berries are rarely used for direct consumption but can be used for juice and wine infusions. Roots and shoots are used in breeding and grafting.
