Dandelion is widely used in folk medicine to improve liver function and digestion. In many traditions, it is used as a general tonic.
Perennial herbaceous plant with yellow flowers and toothed leaves. Widespread in many regions, commonly grows in meadows and roadsides. Blooms from spring to autumn.
Collect leaves and roots in spring and autumn, preferably in ecologically clean areas. Roots are best dug in autumn when they contain maximum nutrients.
Choose young leaves without damage and contamination. Clean roots from soil and wash thoroughly.
Use leaves fresh or dry at temperatures up to 40°C. Clean, slice and dry roots in shade or at low temperature.
