Evergreen tropical tree reaching 10–20 m tall. Blooms in spring; fruits ripen in summer; prefers warm, humid climate.
Harvesting mature fruit clusters by hand from the tree. Using long poles with baskets for higher branches.
Harvest when the skin is light brown and flesh is translucent and sweet. Best picked in early morning to preserve juiciness.
Fruits are eaten fresh, dried, or added to desserts and teas. Peel is removed; seeds are inedible.
