Rare tree resembling common longan but with larger flowers. Prefers tropical moist forests and warm climate.
Fruits are handpicked from the tree or harvested using hooked poles. Nets or baskets are used to collect clusters without damaging the fruits.
Fruits ripen during the rainy season; skin turns light brown. Best harvested in dry weather, early in the morning.
Fruits can be eaten fresh or dried for storage. Seeds are discarded; skin is removed.
